Combining two units in this four-story boutique building offered the ability to design not only new space, but a new lifestyle, for an English bachelor headed for the States – and an upcoming marriage. His appreciation for the finer things in life honed during worldwide travels informed our designs for a cosmopolitan couple’s nest for two. Still, the ability to entertain graciously indoors and out was paramount – which is why rooms feature modular furnishings, cozy conversation areas, and a custom dining table and wine storage. Texture plays a key role, from exposed brick, metal-framed interior glass, and sculptural wood furnishings, to an abundance of noteworthy stone. Taken together, the effect is both continental and familiar.
