On Gratitude

As we immerse ourselves in the season of gathering and giving, we want to slow down for a meaningful moment to express our gratitude.

We have much to be thankful for right now. From an ever-growing business that has brought exciting new talent and ideas to Soucie Horner, to the expansion of our office space, we know how fortunate we are. They say it takes a village and at Soucie Horner, it’s really true. We are grateful every day for the talented professionals on our teams who help make our clients’ lives more beautiful, answer the needs of the designers who look to us for amazing rugs, and host our Wickwood Inn guests with unforgettable graciousness.

And oh, how we’re grateful for those clients, designers, and guests! In the aftermath of a challenging few years for our industry, we recognize they have choices. The fact that they choose us is a responsibility we cherish. It’s our mission to earn their trust at every opportunity; and to do whatever it takes so projects proceed smoothly and guests are pampered. Hopefully, we do that with some laughs, some good times shared, and some lifetime memories made.

We are grateful for clients who encourage us to dream on their behalf, and who invite us for boat rides and to share meals. For designers who tell us our rugs anchor their rooms in beauty. And for guests who say their stay at our inn has inspired and rejuvenated them.

And we are grateful for the vendors and business partners with whom we collaborate. Together we transform aspirations into lovely realities. Many of us have worked together for decades. We respect each other’s work and enjoy a shared sense of purpose.

That purpose – to work as a team to bring dreams to life, whether they be residential spaces, commercial buildings, custom furnishings, or hospitality experiences – is the reason Soucie Horner exists. It is the reason we love what we do. And it is the reason we are so grateful for the opportunity to do it.

A twin who treats herself to flowers for her home every week, Rebecca describes her design style as “warm, tailored, and natural.” She’s inspired by her grandmother, particularly a black-and-white photo of her from the 1920s. “She is dressed in an impeccable seersucker suit and a statement hat band,” she says.
