Edgewater Golf Club

New-build construction, this clubhouse serves as the village center for a 5,000-home community – anchoring both golf and social life while welcoming residents, members, and visitors alike. SHDC partnered with the architect of record and the True Homes client team to shape an environment that feels purposeful and layered, offering multiple ways to experience the club within a relatively modest footprint.

A convivial centerpiece, the generously sized bar balances programmatic complexity with inviting design. Built to support multiple bartenders, screens, and high-caliber food and beverage service (the requirements of which we are intimately familiar with thanks to our ownership and operation of the food-forward Wickwood Inn), the area also features acoustic 3D paneling to absorb sound – and NanaWalls opening seamlessly to the terrace.

In close collaboration with the architect of record, we shaped the interior architecture – articulating a double fireplace, frieze detailing, wood beams, and angled brackets to add scale.

Art, and a whimsical collection of antique golf caps, graces the main thoroughfare. Leading to locker rooms and a pro shop beyond, the hallway-like space feels residential – yet handles the public with ease.

In the main dining room, a central fireplace sets a residential tone, layered with eclectic art inspired by sport and the surrounding hills, pines, and fauna. Flexible seating, anchored by a banquette with mirrored light panels, showcases SHDC’s choices for everything from furnishings to tabletop décor.

French doors offer a glimpse into the SHDC-recommended private dining room, positioned off the main space and discreetly adjacent to the kitchen. Designed to flex for weekend brunches and small group events, it maximizes available seating – and ROI.

Floating atop wood-accented walls, the private dining room’s antique fish platters nod to a modern Lowcountry sensibility, creating an atmospheric bridge between casual and formal affairs in a single space. SHIIR rugs throughout the clubhouse were reengineered and customized to meet the demands presented by commercial foot traffic.

Locker rooms deliver a top-tier wet experience for discerning golf members, detailed with curved vanities and refined finishes that feel residential rather than institutional.

Designed as a true “third place,” its interiors balance residential warmth with commercial performance. The result is an engaging, resilient destination – thoughtfully programmed, operationally sound, and built to endure the demands of daily community life.

Eitan spent six years designing for New York City hospitality firms before moving to Chicago and joining Soucie Horner. Perhaps that’s partly why he takes such a client-oriented approach to his projects. “I’ll work alongside you to bring your vision to reality, provide help and guidance whenever there’s uncertainty, and will be there from start to finish,” he says.
